Reports from Italy show that the harvest of olives this year will be greatly affected by unusual weather conditions, insects and bacterial blight, meaning, inevitably, prices will rise. The Observer article of 4/1/15 reported that the International Olive Council says production will hit its lowest level in 15 years.
